Apart from the bed and carriage, are there any other items that are different in the KR 260 and KR 850 please?thanks,Ann
@Beth_Leatherman or @MK_er are very knowledgeable about machine knitting.
Both of these are ribbers. The KR as opposed to KH designation means they are ribbers. The 260 is a bulky ribber of 9mm while the 850 is a standard gauge of 4.5mm. That’s distance of the spacing between the needles. Unless you already have the corresponding knitting machine, you don’t want them! You have to attach the ribbers to the knitting machine in order to make use of them.
Thank you very much for your much appreciated reply. What I really wanted to know is-are all the other parts (apart from the carriage and bed) on the two ribbers ,interchangeable?
The ribber weights would work on either machine. The tools for hand manipulation would not since the bulky tools are wider and thicker.
Thank you very much, very grateful to you
Glad to help. What machines do you have? I have three plastic bed machines. A Studio LK 150, a Studio HK 100 and 2 Brother KX 350’s hooked together to make one long machine. Then I have a Brother 930 with the ribber and garter carriage that I am trying to learn. I have a couple more that I am going to sell, both standard gauge with their ribbers. It’s addictive. Dottie

A lady has asked me to sell her machine and motor and I do not know how to fit a strip light on it. The strip light was on it before her son took it off.I have the clamps and some rods but they do not seem to fit
I am wondering if anyone here has a pic of the Brother ke100 motor and frame with a strip light attached to the frame? thank you for your patience,Ann
I don’t think that there was actually a light strip made specially for the KE 100 Brother motor setup or a knitting machine made by Brother. I’m thinking that the light would have been purchased from someone else that made accessories for knitting machines. The lights that I have seen either were either ones on some kind of rod across the length of the machine or clamp on types that were on each side. However, as I don’t have a motor for my machines, I am certainly not an expert. There is an active machine knitting group on Facebook that might be able to help you. I’m a member and they are a wonderful helpful group.
Thank you very much for your response. This strip light does seem as a purpose one for the motor and frame.I will check your Facebook out, thanks very much for your assistance,Ann
I think after having another look, that you are correct that they did not make a purpose built strip light for the motor, thank you very much
