Kpkpkpkpk?

Hello- I am new to the site and absolutely love it! I am also (fairly) new to knitting and have done a few basic scarf patterns, wraps, hats, etc. I was so excited today to purchase a pattern for a Winter Bud Scarf from Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/61825810/winterbud-pdf-hand-knitting-pattern-put?ref=v1_other_2

Although, there is one technique I have never seen before. The abbreviations state:

kpkpkpkpk)- in 1 - make 9 stitches in one…hmmm? Any guidance to how I do this?

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for any help or insight you can give me

Similar to how you kfb - knit into the st, leave it on the needle, move yarn to front, p, move yarn to back, k, yf, p, etc… Or you can k yo k yo k yo k yo k instead; it’s easier and the YOs are small and look a little like the purls.
