Knitting with multiple colours

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to cast on if I want to make something with multiple colours? Do I cast on with all the colours? Or do I case on with just one colour? :??

Generally you cast on with one color and then add colors as you need them. What are you thinking of making?
