I’ve been given some lovely mohair wool which I haven’t used for many, many years.
I would welcome any tips on using this wool as I tried casting on but found the stitches very tight. I plan to make a slip-over vest type item
.Knitting with Mohair
Welcome to KnittingHelp!
Mohair is lovely and works up into beautiful hats, shawls, sweaters, or vests. It is sticky however and it’s very difficult to rip out. Not impossible but not easy either. The stitches may also stick to each other so you’ll have to be careful about stitch count.
If the cast on is too tight you might try using a larger size needle for the cast on, then switch to the main needle for the project.
Enjoy working with this wonderful gift.

Thanks for your suggestion about using a larger needle. I will give it a go.
