I’m looking for information about knitting with denim strips. Has anyone done this? Are there some articles or references in books about cutting up old jeans and knitting them up? I would love to hear from you!
Here’s a bag made with denim strips. The instructions it has might help.

I been making this demin purse… I love the look and the idea of knitting with denim… BUT knitting with denim is hard to work with. I can only work with it for a short time before my finger start hurting.
When I went to cut the jeans I used a roller scissor that quilter used. It make it so much easer.
I have some Fabric that I bought as yarn. The way they cut that is neat. I took a picture so you can see… I hope it will make since to you.

Thank you for your responses. In summary:
- cut strips 1/2 inch wide
- knot strips together or cut from a rectangle as shown in the photo so that a long strip unfolds (something like a zig-zag)
- use US size 11 needles
- be alert for "hurting hands"
What great help! Thank you both.
