Knitting with circs and multiple colors

HI! I’m new to the forum but have been looking around on the site for a while. I’m trying to knit a baby blanket for my niece and can’t quite seem to figure it out. The site where I found the blanket is http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-happyBabyBlanket.html
but I can’t seem to figure out how to switch from the Main Color to the Contrasting Ones…hoping someone can help please!
Thanks

I always seem to lose my log-in to Lion’s site, but if you’re switching for sections of a different color, hold the color you’re not using anymore over to the left and bring the new color up from underneath. Do this every time you switch and you’ll twist the stitches so you won’t get holes.

Check out Amy’s video on intarsia for a demo.

how do i cast on with multiple colors? i thought i understood but am now confused :frowning: this blanket is causing me extra stress but thanks for your help Ingrid

You don’t have to cast on with multiple colors for this blanket (I found my password). For each square, you’re casting on in the main color. These stitches will eventually form two sides of the square. As you knit, you’ll be decreasing in the center to form the square. It sounds confusing, but as you do it you’ll see it happen.

When you want to change colors for the stripes, just start knitting with the new color and you can weave in the ends later.

how do i cast on with multiple colors?

You don’t have to. Instructions say “With MC, cast on 40 sts, place center marker, cast on 40 sts – 80 sts.” Keep working in the MC for 2 ridges, then you start changing colors.

Ingrid, you don’t have to have a login to click on links to Lion Brand. I think. Maybe my computer has the cookies set for them…
