I just figured out how to do this a few days ago, while doing stockinette. I just need to figure out how to hold the book open. I figure as long as it’s something I don’t have to think about, I can read at the same time.
My dad and I were getting ready to play World of Warcraft the other day and he caught me knitting, playing, and watching The Simpsons at the same time and had a similar reaction. :teehee: I told him he was just jealous.
I can only watch sports or American Idol while knitting. ok, some movies, but I prefer to focus on the movie. Reading while knitting? Y’all are crazy.
edit: Truly, I just downloaded an audiobook to listen to on my iPod while knitting. Poor iPod just sits here connected to the 'puter unless I’m flying somewhere. I’ve never used it otherwise.
I too can knit and read at the same time!! I love it! I discovered that when my passions collided and I had the new Harry Potter book, but still wanted to knit, so I gave it a try.
I use a TV tray for the book and usually weight the pages with a remote control or something. I love it!
SOmeone had posted on here not too long ago about and Australian company that made these pyramid shaped bean bag things that could hold your book open and they had a picture of a woman knitting and reading on the website…I’ll see if I can find it!
Those dexterous toes come in handy I can do almost anything with them. LOL! I agree lace IS hard to knit while doing something else! I learned that on my first shawl.
:flirt:
I can knit most things without looking, but I’d like to improve my knitting speed.
