Hi everyone! I am a relatively new knitter and am making a sweater vest that is knit in the round from the bottom up. The pattern I am following called to knit the base of the sweater vest in the round, and then transfer half of the stitches (for the back portion) onto the holding yarn while you knit the front portion flat. I have finished knitting the front portion and placed those stitches on a holding yarn, and have picked up the stitches for the back portion and placed them back on my needles. However since I was just knitting the front portion (all the way up to the collar), the working yarn is at the top with the front stitches, and the stitches for the back have no working yarn. How am I supposed to begin knitting the back portion? Should I be using a new skein of yarn and working it in somehow? Please help! Thanks <3
Knitting stitches that were on holding yarn

You can cut the yarn attached to the front section leaving about a 6 inch tail to weave in later. Attach a new end of yarn or a new skein to the back stitches and begin knitting. You should also leave about a 6 inch tail from the new yarn. Hold the yarn tail in place with your left hand and knit the first 3-4 stitches. Then you can drop the yarn tail and continue knitting. The first stitch will be a little loose but you can always snug up the yarn tail. When the tail is woven in later, the stitches will be more secure.
What is the name of your pattern?
