Hi. Please could someone help. I’m knitting a child’s raglan jumper and got to the sleeves- bottom up. I start with 39st after completing the rib, which is correct to the pattern. The pattern then states ‘inc 1 st at each end of 7th and 0 foll 6th rows, then on 6 foll 8th rows, then on 0 foll 10th row (53st)’. So I need to increase by 14 stitches, which would be 7 rows, but I don’t understand how I get to that. Any help really appreciated. Many thanks. Lesley
Knitting raglan sleeve increases
Anytime there is a 0 (or x or - ) for your size in a pattern skip over that direction and go on to the next.
Increase at each end of rows 7,15,23,31,39,47 and 55. That’s every 8th row starting at the 7th row.
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Hi Salmonmac
Many thanks for your reply. It’s a King Cole pattern for a boys hoodie. Pattern number 5260.

I’ve altered it a bit- my little grandson loves the hulk, so done an intarsia picture on the front. Thanks again for your help
