Hello! I am new to this forum and excited to learn more about it. I do have a question on a project I am working on…
I am working on knitting a sweater and the instructions on the collar and sleeves do not make sense to me. I am including the pattern and a picture of the finished sweater. Can anyone help me with this?!
Welcome to the Forum! Please remove the first part of your post. It’s OK to post parts of a pattern, but not the entire thing, due to designer copyright.
Rather than saying to cast on for the collar, I believe it should instruct you to “pick up and knit” stitches around the neckline. Here’s a video explaining how to do this. She starts on the opposite shoulder, but the process is the same.

For the sleeves, you’ll be making each one separately, starting at the cuff by casting on 25 stitches. The part before that is telling you how to do the increases.
Rows 1-5, purl.
Row 6, knit
Row 7, purl
Row 8, knit, increasing one stitch at each edge.
You then continue in stockinette (knitting RS rows, purling WS rows), increasing every 8th row until you’ve increased 7 times, so rows 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, and 56. This should give you 39 stitches.
After that, you’ll increase every 4 rows, so 60, 64, 68, 72, and 76. This should bring you to 49 stitches.
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! I removed the pattern, it was a free pattern so I figured it was ok to post the entire thing. I won’t make that mistake again!
Thank you for your quick response. I will give this a try!!
It’s okay to post a link to where a pattern (free or for purchase) can be found.
Enjoy the rest of your project.
