Knitting pattern help

Hello Everyone … I know it’s been a while. Yet I am bitten by the knitting bug once again and making myself some lovely leggings.

The pattern can be found here. https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2025/01/12/classic-cable-leg-warmers/

Now this is the area that I am not quite sure about.
Round 1: *P1, k1, p4, [C4B (see Notes), p4] 2 times, C4F (see Notes), p3, [p1, k1] 1 (2, 1, 2, 1, 2) time(s), repeat from * to end of round.
Now in parentheses (2,1,2, 1, 2) I am unsure as in the CLASSIC CABLE PATTERN (FOR GAUGE SWATCH) it omits the (2,1,2,1,2) how am I suppose to work with this? And what does, (2,1,2,1,2) mean? Happy New Year and thank you so much <3

These gorgeous cable patterned leg warmers come in 6 sizes. The directions to [p1, k1] at the end of the first round are to be repeated for the given number of times:1 (2,1,2,1,2) depending on the size you’re making.
Work the [p1,k1] once for the toddler size, twice for the kid size, once for the adult small and so on.
…[p1, k1] 1 (2, 1, 2, 1, 2) time(s), repeat from * to end of round.

The gauge swatch doesn’t have to fit different sizes. It’s just to insure that you have the appropriate yarn and needles to work the leg warmers.

Happy 2026 to you and Happy St. Valentine’s Day!

That makes perfect sense. Thank you SM that is most helpful and heartfelt wishes for a wonderful heart day.
