Cannot understand what foll 6th rows means as I only ended up with 42 rows for the sleeve which was not long enough
Following 6th row means do 5 rows straight (whatever stitch pattern you are working) then inc/dec or do the extra instruction on the 6th row.
Often there is another number for how many times to do this, for instance the 3 foll 6th rows would be rows 6, 12, 18
Does this help?
Welcome to KH!
What is the name of your pattern?
You’re to work 7 rows then increase on the next row, the 8th row. Skip the next direction which has a 0 for your size and proceed directly to the next instruction. where you increase on the 22 following 8th rows. That would be rows 16,24,32,40,48,56,64 and so on. When you’ve completed these 22 increase rows, you’ll be at 88sts.
Hi
My pattern is King Cole 5648.
So I knit and increase 2 on each 8th row until I get 88sts - is that right - not very experienced knitter I’m afrai
Thanks for your reply
Yes, that’s correct. There’s an increase at the beginning of row and one at end of row. When you get to 88sts, go on to the next step.
You’re gaining experience with each pattern and project you make. All to the good.
We’ve had others knitting this pattern which works up very nicely. Have fun with it1
Just stopping by to apologise if my reply was misleading. I read you needed to know what “foll 6th row” meant but it seems you needed foll 8th row instead.
I hope your project gets back on track.
Thank you for your help
We’d love to see a photo of this sweater when you finish. Have fun with it and come back with any other questions.
