Knitting pattern Abbreviation explanation

Hi - I have a norwegian knitting pattern and the chart symbol is a ‘triangle with a diagonal line through it which translates as - “Knit the 2nd stitch in front of the 1st stitch, Knit the 1st stitch, slip stitch”. Does this mean the symbol relates to 3 stitches? Can someone please explain this to me. I have never worked from a chart before. Many thanks.

It sounds like a right twist stitch, which is just two stitches. It’s basically a 1/1 cable without using a cable needle.

  • Skip the first stitch on the left needle and knit the second.
  • Knit the first stitch on the left needle.
  • Slip both stitches from left needle.
