Knitting magazines

I found a whole bunch of them! Anyone think any of these are good enough for a subscription?

Knitty, MagKnits, and Knitters Rview are all free and online, so definitely bookmark those. Knitty and MagKnits have good patterns, and Knitters Review has great reviews on yarn, needles, accessories. Knitty also has a lot of good features on techniques and other knitting related items.

The only print magazine that I subscribe to right now is Interweave Knits, I really like the patterns and the way it’s put together. Vogue Knitting, I’m sure, is a standard one, so you can’t really go wrong with that one either.

The only one I get out of that list is Vogue knitting. The bummer is that it only comes out 4 times a year. But, it is a great magazine.

Thanks FiberGirl for posting those free online magazines! My desktop is so covered in shortcuts now that my DH makes fun of me. Gonna have to think of a new system. :?? :thinking:

I love looking through mags, but often find I’ve wasted money on them when I don’t seem to find a pattern I really want to sink the time and money into doing!! There are SO MANY patterns on the Internet, I usually count on googling and asking my KH buddies :inlove: :inlove: where to find what I want to make!! It’s cheaper for me, then I can spend more money on yarn and less on mags!! :cheering: :heart:

I ended up getting a subscription to Interweave Knits b/c I really like their patterns and the stores near me (aka the grocery store and Target) very rarely even carry knitting magazines. If they do, they’re generally nothing special. I just got my subscription tho - so the first issue they sent me, I already had bought at JoAnn’s. So if anyone wants my spare copy, let me know, I’d be happy to send it to you so you can look before you buy. It’s the Fall05 issue I believe. (It’s a quarterly publication like Vogue Knitting - but that’s ok, b/c my list of projects is already TOO long!)

I :heart: the online knitting ‘zines for patterns and special features, generally b/c I’m just addicted to the Internet (hah, and I used to make fun of my DH for this), but also b/c I can pick and choose what to print and add to my binder o’ patterns.

I received an offer from Interweave for a free issue. :happydance: I’m sure they hope I’ll be subscribing. (Maybe…) I can hardly wait to get it.

For basic stuff, I like Family Circle Easy Knitting. They almost always have patterns I will use…someday… :wink:
