I want to start knitting…i dont know how…

my friend will show me…but i dont know what shall i buy for as a beginners…and i dont know where…

amazon.com is the only site i can order from cz am gana recieve it easily in my country

Welcome to KH! The videos on this site have been so helpful and have really kept me knitting when otherwise I might have given up - do take a look at them!

As to what to buy: I would pick a project and then buy what you need for that. What kinds of things do you envision yourself making?

There are some absolutely lovely scarves out there, and scarves are particularly good for learning both basics and experimenting with patterns – I imagine you don’t need anything really woolly or heavy in the UAE? Or are the nights colder than I think? Anyway, I wouldn’t go with laceweights just yet, but you might choose something that looks good in worsted, aran, or DK (doubleknitting) weights so it’s a bit lighter. Your choice of yarn will tell you what size needles to buy.

I bought a knitting kit at Walmart. It had needles, stitch holders, etc in it.

You don’t really need a ‘kit’, just some yarn and needles. The other items in the kit are useful, but can be substituted with other things you might have around the house. Check ebay though, there might be something similar available there.
