Knitting into a stitch more than once

The pattern I am currently doing asks me to knit into a stitch 5 times
can anyone tell me how to do this in words of one syllable:lol:
I am a bit confused:??

Knit into the stitch once, but don’t slip if off. Knit into it again, but don’t slip it off. Knit into it again, but don’t slip it off. Knit into it again, and again, and finally, again, and then slip it off.

loisamelia… I’ve never quite got the knack of that correctly but contiknitter is right in terms of his explanation. The end result is that you make a bobble or raised round section on the item. Often popular on hats or tops of sweaters etc.

You could try knitting into the front, back, front, back and front of the stitch before sliding it off. Might be a bit easier.

Thanks all, but I think I’ve worked out that the instruction I was reading is a typo:rollseyes:
so at least i can carry on with what I was doing now
