I’m Ecuadorian, so my native language is spanish. However, I learned english when I was 5 yo (me and my family were illegal immigrants (I know I shouldn’t be proud, but I am)), so it stuck with me. Soo, I learned how to knit in english, and do “knits” and “purls”.
However, I realized that I needed to learn spanish knitting terminology to teach others and to use patterns from local magazines. My dad got me a “Knitting Dictionary” and now I’m re-learning knitting
Fun fact: In spanish, knit stitches are “stitches on the right” and purl stitches are “stitches on the wrong”. It’s confusing since sometimes you’d read “Do 5 stitches on the wrong on the right side”.
