Knitting Circles in NYC

Hello,

Anyone know of knitting circles in NYC (other than belonging to yarn shops where you have to buy something every time you ask question)? Looking for a little community – I’m a new knitter.

I think most large cities have a group called “Stitch and Bitch” and I am sure NYC is no exception. You might try groups.yahoo.com or meetup.com and search for your area. I don’t think you’ll have trouble finding one!

Annette, I’ve been looking too, I live in NY. Yeah, in the yarn shops you gotta buy their yarn to sit there I guess.

I read a couple months ago about a group that meets at Starbuck’s on Broadway & 86th on Wednesday nights 7 - 9. I can’t remember where I read that, maybe Craig’s List. I’ll look around and see if I can find it again.

Stitch n’Bitch used to have a group downtown, lower east side.
So, she says in her first book.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LICknit/ meets every Tuesday at a Long Island City cafe. There are new knitters (like me) and some very experienced knitters. They’re also listed on meetup.com.

Kemp is right, you won’t have any trouble finding a group at meetup or yahoo.
