Knitting a buttonless towel topper with a "bobble"

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum and hoping i will like it here. I hope i can find some answers and help out anyone else i can too:)
My question refers to creating a bobble. I have googled and searched videos on how to do it but they do not seem to be the same as what mine is supposed to look like. Mine is more of a flower shape and it is on the towel topper in place of a button. The towel pattern I have is from mary maxim. Out of context the pattern says have 7 sts, k1 row Next row: K3, bobble in next stitch, knit to end. Directions for bobble: (K1,YO,K1,YO,K1 in next st,) turn 3x, K2TOG, K1, K2TOG, pass 2nd and 3rd st over first st. I know how to do k1,yo,k1,yo,k1 all in next st. but does the turn 3x mean knit, turn knit, turn knit then the decresing? or does it mean do k1,yo,k1,yo,k1, turn, repeat, turn, repeat THEN do decreasing? I am so confused! In the picture it appears to have 3 ‘petals’ I am really not sure how i turn this seemingly short bobble pattern into all that. Please help me thank you:)

Here is a picture of what the finished product should look like,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.42553238,d.dmQ&biw=1366&bih=667&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&

Is that the same towel pattern you have? That topper looks crocheted to me.

The pattern has directions for both knit and crochet. So maybe the particular picture i posted was the crocheted version sorry

Hi and welcome!
The bobble pattern gives you 5sts in place of one stitch. Follow the directions for the increase, then turn, knit 5, turn, knit 5, turn, knit 5 and finally K2TOG, K1, K2TOG, pass 2nd and 3rd st over first st (that’s working 5sts back to one stitch).
Cute pattern!

Thank you! That was what i was thinking. I have done that and basically i have what looks like a ‘raised ball’. Maybe most of my confusion is because i thought the bobble would create what looks like the flower in the picture. I know you are not looking at the entire pattern.

You were right about the picture being of the crocheted version. The pattern didn’t indicate that it was. The knitted pattern is slightly different from the crocheted and therefore only has a bobble and not a flower appearance. Now I understand why my work does not look like the picture! Thanks:)
