Knitted Toys Book - is it just me?

Hi everyone! I’m knitting the teddy bear pattern from the book Knitted Toys: 21 Easy-to-Knit Patterns for Irresistible Soft Toys by Fiona McTague. (Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Knitted-Toys-Easy-Knit-Irresistible/dp/0764157663/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top)

Anyway, I’m pretty far into the pattern and I’m currently working at the Right Side of the bears head - but my row to stitch count are always off! Am I really doing a bad job of knitting, or is the pattern bad? I can’t find any corrections anywhere (and I’d love some!) but the Amazon review hints to me that my issue may not be my knitting skills.

Any feedback appreciated. Tips? Opinions? Ever used this book?

I love knitting toys and I have made quite a few, lately. Gorgeous gifts and quick knitting in between big projects.

The things I knit are mostly from Laura Lang, Knitted Toy Tales! (Great book, I really reccomend it!)

I do not know your pattern, though.

Are you sure that something is wrong? Sometimes it is hard to immagine how the pieces go together…
Maybe post the lines from the pattern and what your piece comes out to?
