Knitted knockers on straight or circular needles

Hello everyone, so happy to find this site. I am trying to learn how to make knitted knockers on straight or circular needles- without nipple. I would love to find a video on this- I have looked on utube and all they have is ones with I cord- nipples. I am trying to do this for charity. I can not find how to start this without the nipple option- it is beginning to frustrate me. I want to do this so bad. I can knit and crochet but still have trouble reading patterns sometimes. I tried using dpn’s but had lots of trouble with that. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you so much, Lynne1

Hi and welcome!
Here’s a video and website that may help. You could also use the technique with other patterns so that the I-cord is omitted (see video about halfway down page, ~4 minute point in video):

This uses dpns but you could certainly use magic loop or two circulars if you prefer.
There’s also a pattern for straight needles knit flat which can be downloaded. It’s in one of the blue rectangles on the page.
