I know there was some links to this somewhere on this board. Y’all have the minds for it anyway. So my local Stich n Bitch takes place in the Women’s Center on campus and every year they participate in the Vagina Monologues (here’s a link http://www.vday.org/main.html ) and they asked us to knit some vulvas or boobies or any vagina-ish. I have the knitted womb from Knitty and boobs are pretty easy but how would you make a knitted vulva? ANy ideas? Links?

I love you femi! We women are too hung up on being embarrassed by our parts! If you find knitted vulvas or vaginas, I definitely want the pattern. I’m going to make one for every woman I know!

You could make them into coin purses… :shock:
All I can think of is to make a short tube with increases towards the top, and rolled edges. Finishing stitches on each end of the “trumpet” you end up with will flatten the ends to simulate a vulva. If you’re really clever, extra length to the rolled edge can be formed and stitched down into major and minor labia.

I must admit, I’m not all that impressed with the crocheted vulvas. Who knew I’d be so picky? HA HA HA. It’s true you know, if you knit it, they will come. No puns of any sort intended.

OMG–I showed dh and he almost died–I told him I’m making him a willy warmer (I just might do it as a joke!).
The good part of showing him this is that he said (keep in mind I want to knit a dog sweater and my dh swears that animals should not wear clothes)…“If you start knitting those…OMG…I’d rather you knit a dog sweater!”
