Hi everyone, has anyone ever purchased anything from knitpicks.com and if so have you used knitpicks crayon yarn? I was thinking of using this to make myself a hoodie sweater Does anyone have any recommendations out of the knitpicks yarn line?
Knitpicks yarn
I like many of the knit picks yarns, and i’ve bought a bunch of the color cards, which really helps with deciding which yarns to use. i bought crayon to use for a baby blanket, and i actually returned it because i didn’t like how it looked. maybe for the hoodie it would be fine, but i thought it wouldn’t look good for my project.
good luck!
Here is the hoodie I want to make Just in case anyone is wondering
Are you kidding? Knitpicks is VERY popular.
I had no problems with them, but they don’t ship fast when you choose free shipping.
No Im not kidding  Im new this forum and I just came across the store while yarn shopping and I saw such beautiful yarns with so much potential Just think of the possibilities :cheering:
And that of course depends on where you live. I get things very quickly when I order from KP - but they ship from Ohio and I’m in Indiana. My last package arrived yesterday and I ordered it Sunday evening.
I’ve never used Crayon but it looks nice and snuggly for that hoodie you want to make. Good price too! I’ve had good luck so far with other yarn that I’ve purchased there.
I’ve bought from them quite a few times and never been disappointed. Yes, I agree that the shipping isn’t quick when you order over $40 and it’s free. (Matter of fact, I’m waiting on something now ) Anyway, I’m currently knitting a shawl in the Andean Silk (alpaca/silk/merino wool blend) and I LOVE IT. I’ve also bought Simple Stripes to do socks in; I’m not proficient on socks yet, so I’m thinking there’s lots of better sock yarns, but I still like it.
They ship from Vancouver, WA which is right across the river from us in Oregon so i get my KP orders fast. Yummy yarn, great colors, cheap price, how can you resist!!
Ah, interesting, they must have a couple distribution centers. All my packages come from Ohio.
I got my order from Ohio too. And I am in Colorado.
I WISH they had shipped from WA. I would have gotten my order in just a couple of days!
I buy most of my yarn from knitpicks lately. It is always where I look first. Their prices are so nice. I am using crayon for a hoodie for my dd. (Hoping to finish it today!!!) I normally don’t like boucle yarns but this one is really nice. I would definatly use it again. And I think it would be nice on the hoodie you posted.
I Lurve me some knit picks! Their Decadance is :drooling:
Oh yeah, and make sure you get to their site from the ads here on KnittingHelp. It helps support the site. Just look for one of the banner ads and it’ll take you right too it.
Oh okay. One search of the forum with the word Knitpicks and you’dprobably have so many hits it would take you all week to read them. LOL It’s also called KP pretty often in here. Their prices are so good I’d say go for it and see how you like them and their products.
I just made a sweater jacket for my sister out of Crayon. It was a little stiff at first. I also had to figure out how to get it to not stick to my bamboo needles (ended up using metal) but I really loved the way it turned out.
I’m waiting for my latest order to arrive! I fell in love with the “Tulip and Gingham” socks on the cover of their most recent catalog. I ordered all the yarns and the pattern to knit them. Plus ordered some solid yarns so I can knit my dh a pair of socks. Can’t wait to receive it all! :XX: :XX:
I ordered a few books from them and one shipped fairly quickly and one was back ordered. A few weeks after I placed my order I received a phone call from them telling me that the second book would not become available and that they apologized for the inconvenience. I thought it was nice of them to follow up on my order with a phone call.
