Knit your socks on straight

Good morning. Has anyone use Alice Curtis “Knit your socks on straight” book?
I am interested in using this book but am finding it tad confusing and cannot find any videos to assist.

Sounds very interesting indeed. From the reviews on Amazon it seems to have many mistakes some of which are noted here

and on the publishers website

You can quote a couple of rows that are giving you trouble if you like. Don’t post a large portion of the pattern please due to copyrights.

I would very much like to learn how to do socks which is why I purchased this book.

These are the instructions for the heel turn and this is a commonly used heel.
When you turn your knitting to the wrong side or the right side depending on the row, you’ll leave a small gap at the turn.
This video shows the process. It may not be exactly like your directions but the idea of the turn and gap are clearly shown.

If that isn’t the problem, come back and let us know.

I have this book and have made a pair. Very clever design. They turned out very nice. I happen to knit faster on long straights (with one needle under my arm) so this works well for me.

I have it. Bought it thinking that it would be nice for a change not to handle 4 needles. (not a fan of 2 circulars or magic loop) I’m an experienced knitter with lots of socks under my belt and I found it difficult to follow and confusing.
