Has anyone bought the yarn winder that Knit Picks now carries? I’m curious as to the quality since they’re only charging $20.00 for it. It’s either really good and affordable, like all the other things they carry, or it’s crappy and you get what you pay for.
I’m anxious to know as well - my winder’s gears have stripped and I need a new one. I can buy one from JoAnns for slightly more than KnitPicks and wondered which I should buy.
I bought a ball winder from an Ebay site and it was HORRIBLE…the thread guide moved back and forth and got out of sinc just from winding one ball…the core was stationary and it created a horrible mess! So, I ordered one from Knitpicks and it is SUPER!!! The core moves, thread guide is stationary…balls are perfectly wound! I love mine and the $20 pricetag was a bonus! It’s plastic but very well made. I knit lace primarily so my skeins are usually between 440 - 1100 yards but laceweight. Mary
My experience with Knit Picks is that what ever it is… if it doesn’t work, or you don’t like it, or it breaks … they will send you a new one quickly and with a smile !
