Hi, I am a beginner and am knitting a self fringing shawl. If I don’t knit the second part of Kfb and just slip the stitch will that affect the self fringing aspect negatively?
Welcome to the forum!
A kfb is an increase so you need to end with 2sts in place of one. The new modification of kfb knits into the front of the stitch and then slips the stitch through the back loop this way:
We can’t tell how this will affect the fringe on your shawl without knowing the pattern. Can you give us a link or a pattern name? Not the whole pattern please because of copyright problems.
Yes VeryPK is where I picked up the technique just not sure if it will make a difference in the end. The shawl was on L&B yarn co. Self fringing shawl.
Ah, very cleverly done.
Work a small swatch, bind off and unravel the last 4sts. That will test out the slipped kfb. I think it’ll work but I’ve never tried it for this kind of edging with fringe.
Thanks, will give it a try.
