I don’t understand how you knit into the front and back of the stitch.

You’re in luck! Amy, our KnittingHelp.com “momma”…has a video for the KFB increase.

and scroll down the page til you see the KFB (knit front and back). If you are a Continental (picker) knitter, click the pink camera icon. If you are an English (thrower) knitter, click the blue camera icon.
Or written down:
You knit the stitch as normal, but, you don’t slide it off the left needle, but leave it on, and then knit in the back on that stitch, then you slide it off.
I don’t really like that. My stitches are quite tight, so with this increase, it gets even tighter…
