I’ve been knitting only since January, but my friend who has been teaching me to knit, has me doing 'The Wonderful Wallaby" which is a pullover hoodie, and fits all ages, from childs size two, all the way up to adults super size. The entire thing (to this point) has been done using circular needles…I even got to figure out how to use double pointed needles on my own for the cuff! Once you have the sleeves done, you join them up to the body and continue knitting. I can’t tell you much further than this, because I just got that far yesterday. I stand corrected though, you do the pocket on straight needles, but it is started by pulling yarn through the front and then at the correct length, knitted into the body.
You should be able to get the pattern by ordering online, I bought mine at a yarn shop here in Tacoma.
I’m not sure because she lives in Germany and always uses yummy yarn that you can’t find in the US. But Noro Kureyon would probably give the same effect.
