Knit-in-Join

Hello,

I have a quick question about joining (same-colour) yarn using the “knit-in-join” technique as demonstrated in the knitting help videos. It seems that all you need to do after doing this join is cut the loose ends to about 0.5" or so in length and leave them. Would anyone recommend first weaving in the loose ends first before cutting them or is this overkill?

(Finishing up my first sweater!)

Good question! I never feel quite comfortable just cutting so I usually weave it in the other direction for a few stitches. I don’t know if it’s really necessary though since I weave in the same way really. :teehee:

Weaving is what you did by knitting them in.
It’s the same as crocheting over an end, an either/or thing.

But I also can’t simply knit in or crochet over. I have to tie a knot before knitting them in.
