I’m in need of a pattern for my 3-year old. He’s been patiently waiting for me to finish his cousin’s baby blanket so I can start on his. I need something simple, but bigger than a baby blanket and smaller than a regular size afghan.
TIA!

Since the size is not critical, is there any particular stitch pattern you like to do, or would like to learn? You could just find one you like and knit it to whatever size you would like the blanket to be.
I don’t know how simple this is, but i love this blanket. i hope to make it one day for my son (5 mo).

it is 30" x 40", but looks like you could easily make it larger.

Here’s one of the easiest to make, and you can choose the size yourself by knitting as many squares as you want:

And here are some different squares to choose from for making a bright, happy afghan. It looks a little harder though.

And here’s the FISH AFGHAN. Make as many fish as you want.

Here is A LOT of baby blankets. Some of them are very simple, but then some of them are very complex.
But I have to say that the tessalating fish blanket(the last one carolina posted) looks to be your best bet. You can make big fish, small fish, red fish, and blue fish(heck make it into a learning blanket to go along with the dr. suess book
)

Any ideas on how big this is? It doesn’t have dimensions on it. I’m thinking it’s pretty small. I just finished a baby blanket with the same yarn and it was 123 stitches across and was around 36-40 inches wide. How do I increase the pattern to make it larger?
I’m a total newbie- this will be my first changing colors too :shock: !!
