I must admit, the whole “freeform” idea freaks me out too. I am a very regimented person. But I am definitely going to give this a try. It’s time to step out of the box!
I started a new project last night that might fall in the category of “freeform”, but not completely.
I’m making the Garter Stitch Tunic.

I have a lot of different yarns I have won on eBay, but none of them have enough to make a full sweater, so I’m mixing them up in this project.
Nomis Sports Lustro Excellence, color Coral (acrylic and nylon)
Bernat Linette (a mix of linen, rayon, acrylic, and nylon)
(I’m holding those two together for the main color of the tunic.)
Caron Simply Soft, color Jonquil (100% acrylic)
Fruit of the Loom, color Frosted Red (acrylic and nylon)
(These two will be “accent” stripes in the tunic.)
The Nomis and Fruit of the Loom yarns have a really cool “sparkle”.
I think this is as “freeform” as I can get.
I love the idea, but it does scare me also. I kind of feel like I don’t know enough knitting techniques like edgings and how to make sccrunchy looking things, but I guess that’s the point? I’m also going to use this as a jump off point for crochet. No idea how to do it, but I’ll just poke and prod and make knots.
Am I allowed to decide what type of garment beforehand? It’lll be all crazy and ignored, but I have a feeling it’d look better as an accesory than as a main garment.
yeah I think it’s helpful to know what you’re making before you start scrumbling.
I think I’m going to make mine a bag.

Ok - I just remembered last night that I really wanted to give this a try, so here’s what I came up with…
A Scrumble headband for my babies’ bear (that was actually supposed to be a funky bracelet for me - misjudged the size :rollseyes: )
