KH April Knit-Along (KAL) or Crochet-Along (CAL)

I love it! :thud:

Ok, I have not yet participated in a KAL, but this looks like one I can handle lol! Love the small projects…and Sandy’s scrunchie inspired me! I’m sure I can find SOMETHING in my stash to use for one…or maybe even a nice headband…off to research!

Jan, your headband looks great! :yay: Was it fun to do?

I love the double knit Christmas blanket that will be the new KAL - I think the headband would be a good manageable size project to learn how before jumping into a major project like that blanket! Good job!!

Thanks, Sandy and Yarncharmer! It was fun to do, but there were so many stitches! I just couldn’t picture that this would fit anyone, but it worked out somehow. I can’t even imagine how many stitches you’d have to cast on for a blanket to be double knit in one piece… Let’s see, if you need 50 for one block across the front that would be 100 for both sides. So if you want 5 blocks across then that’s 500 stitches not counting any edge stitches for a smallish blanket if I’m counting correctly. If you use a lighter weight yarn so it’s not quite so thick that’s even more…
Oh. My. God. :passedout:

I have managed to put a photo on over at WhatchaKnitting (with considerable help from a client).

Yay! Welcome to the KAL!

I bet it WAS a lot of stitches! And you’re right…I bet the blanket would need a TON of stitches cast on.

I’ll check it out!

Your headband looks great, lulubell!

I’m putting a copy of your photo here to make it easy for everyone to see.

Got mine  I need a better pic though. Don’t you just love these HIDE BEHIND THE CAMERA SELF HEADSHOTS?!? :eyes: I made the Star Stitch Headband. It’s in Lion Brand Cotton Ease.

Arielluria, I love it!

This was actually my “false start” headband at the beginning of this KAL(I started and frogged several times). I really like it and have it in my queue waiting for a yarn that I like with it!

It was an easy knit, it took me a couple of tries to get that star stitch right, but I don’t do directions very well  It was easy.

Ohhh I like that! It’s much more practical for socal than my double knit one!

Nice, Arielluria!

I’ve pulled back out the fair isle headband I started at SAFF, and now I’m hunting the pattern. :teehee:

I like it alot Arielluria!

Well, I jumped into my first KAL and completed it :yay: (ok, I’ll admit, it was one I could handle lol!) I made the Emma Grace Headband found on KP (the link to the pattern gives 3 different headband styles) and I used some leftover Tahki Yarns organic cotton from my Spring Beret

Now…let’s hope the photos come in. I usually upload from my computer, but I think this time Jan’s instructions worked for me from Flickr!!

This is my first KAL too. Since I haven’t been knitting very long, I decided just to do a very simple headband. It is made with some Mercerised Cotton a friend gave me.

Beautiful headbands everyone :yay:
Now to find a pattern to try!

Yay! :woohoo:
Both of you did an excellent job!

I was able to squeeze in one more headband for this month. I finished it a few days ago, and have been enjoying wearing it.

I used some Laines du Nord Ombre yarn I’ve had in my stash for a while. My intention was to make a headband when I first bought the yarn, so this worked out perfectly.

Very nice, Sandy!

Everyone’s headbands are lovely. Sadly, I have yet to cast on for mine, and (checking calendar) it’s now May 1st. I have spent the last couple of days making some headwear that isn’t really a hat, so maybe that counts. It’s for a music program at my daughter’s school. The pattern is from the Godey’s 1858 Ladies’ Catalog, and can be found on Ravelry (it’s called Sortie) and here:

I need to add the ribbons and fringe and then I’ll try to post a picture.

Happy May Day!

Thanks, yarncharmer!

Hello Everyone!
I forgot my log-in information but all is straight now. I did finish the headbands, yes I did two of them the first one was my very first attempt at changing a color. It was so plain, I had to challenge myself with headband #2, using two colors and knitting Continental and English at the same time. I used the “Awareness Symbol” motif multiple times for the design on this one. Pheeew! That was a mess in the beginning but it turned out pretty nice, I think! :happydance: :woohoo:

I just looked at all of the headbands and they are all very nice!!
