KH April Knit-Along (KAL) or Crochet-Along (CAL)

I am pretty dumb and do not know how to do links but the one I am doing is called The Whitney Headband from JennyHats.com (am I allowed to put that in?)

OOh, and I have just noticed that I am doing k2 p2 and in the pattern it is k1 p2.

:fingerwag: You are not dumb! The easiest way to do it is to just copy the link and paste it into your message. It’ll automatically link in most cases.

Oops!

Arn’t our puddytats beautiful Jan.

To add a link to your post, just open up the link that you want to reference, and click in the address area at the top of your screen. When the web address is highlighted, right-click your mouse in that area, and click “copy”. Then, open up the post your making in the forum, and right-click, then click “paste” in the post. Good luck!

They certainly are! My puddy is almost 18. :zombie:

Just wanted to post and let you all know that I haven’t abandoned this KAL. I cast on Sun. expecting to be done the next day, BUT… I got an eye infection in BOTH eyes :zombie: !!! Seriously, I figured it best not to try and knit lace for my first time this way! I can see well enough to get through the day, and thank goodness for spell check, but knitting, not so much!

On the positive side, I was able to get through the first 20 rows and then 2 sets of pattern repeat before this happened. When I do finally get back to it, I don’t think it should take too long to complete. The pattern I chose seems very easy and was a good choice to begin lace with.

Just as an aside…I have no idea how to block lace! Guess I should figure that out, huh?

You poor thing! I hope your eyes get better soon.

Hi Lieuvena, so sorry about your eye infection. I hope it clears up soon for you.

I haven’t abandoned this kal either, but I haven’t started yet (other than getting the pattern and the yarn - I’m really good at doing that part!) The reason I haven’t started is that I have another project I really want to get finished with first. I’m hoping to have it done by Easter, but realistically, I’m not so sure that can happen. All I can do is :knitting: and hope for the best…

I missed the April KAL and wanted to challenge myself by doing a fairisle headband. Can I, please! Love to join this KAL.

Sure, you can join in! We start them each month, but they can go on as long as someone is interested and posts in here.

That’s my favorite part too! :cheering:

Welcome to the April KAL!

I actually finished my blue scrunchie! :woohoo:

I used some of my handspun blue merino wool. I’m still learning to spin, so it wasn’t consistent by any means. But it didn’t need to be perfect for this hair scrunchie.

After binding off, I seamed the ends together to form a ring.

Then, I found a hair elastic in my bathroom drawer.

Next, I put the elastic around the knitting scrunchie.

Then, I wrapped the edges closed around the elastic, and seamed them all around.

And here’s the finished scrunchie!

It works well!

Yay Sandy!! That turned out really cute! I love the color of the yarn!:yay:

Thanks yarncharmer!

Those little scrunchies are so fast to knit. Perfect for summer knitting.

I finally got my headband done! It only took about a day to knit once I was able to actually get going. This is the best pic I have been able to get so far. I’m going to try to get one with it on soon.

This was my first lace project and also the first time I knit an I cord. Very easy project!

Very pretty, Lieuvena!! It looks really light and airy - perfect for summertime! It’s fun learning something new, isn’t it?:happydance:

That’s so pretty, Lieuvena!
And I think it’s cool that you learned two new things with the project!

Ooo pretty Lieuvena!

I finished my double knit headband and it’s washing right now. When it’s done I’ll update with a photo.

I have finished my headband too. Although I almost lost it to my youngest sister over the Easter break. I will try to put a photo on later today!

I think it’s a compliment that your sister almost took it!

I’m going to pull out the fair-isle headband I started in the Fair Isle 101 class I took at the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair last year. I really need to finish that! :teehee:

Here’s my finished double knit headband! Also here’s the post in What’cha Knittin’ forum if you want to see a few more pix.
