KFRN question

You’re doing the knit front and back into the double yarn over correctly. The stitch count in the pattern seems to be off. It could be that the (10sts) at the end of row 3 is meant to be at the end of row 4. However, if row 5 starts another similar picot repeat then the starting stitch count will keep increasing.
Check the next section and see what stitch count you get after that section.

If you need to get back to 9sts after row 4 you might cast off 3sts instead of 2 on that row but that’s just a fudge in case the following rows don’t help with stitch count.
What is the name of your pattern and designer?

Thank you, reassuring to know I am doing the right thing with the yfrn stitches!

The next section is a 4 row repeat that has a net increase of 1 stitch every repeat. It says to repeat this 15 times more, (so work it 16 times total) and then the stitch count is 36, which also seems wrong.

I started the section with 10, so by the end of the 16x repeats I calculate I should have 26 stitches.

this is a test pattern, so maybe the instructions are wrong and I will check with the e designer, but I just wanted to double check I hadn’t mis-interpreted the instructions! Thanks again

Ah, so it’s meant to increase a stitch with each repeat. (10sts at the end of row 4 with an increase of one each time the pattern repeats.) Yes, 26sts after the repeat of rows 5-8.
Good of you to work this test knit. Thank you for that.
