Hello, I have been here before on this pattern for a fisherman’s rib cardigan, which I am finding a challenge, and you guys were extremely helpful.
The cardigan button band says to K3tog after the band of 5 sts 1x1 rib: k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, and then starts the fisherman’s rib on a purl stitch which begins the K3tog sequence. I am working on the right front so I believe the decrease should be left leaning. I would be grateful for any advice.
You could work the 3sts together as sk2p or sssk whichever you prefer.

Thank you for your reply ColoCro. How would it work though if my first stitch of the K3tog is a purl stitch and my second stitch a K1B (fisherman’s rib pattern) third stitch a purl in order to keep to the pattern?
Try changing the first purl stitch to a knit before slipping it (while it’s still on the left needle). Then knit the next 2sts together. They will end up behind the slip stitch once you pass the slipped stitch over (see the video). See if that is the look that you want.
Your pattern should stay aligned because you’re decreasing two sts in the rib pattern.
Based on your previous thread which highlighted how poorly this pattern had been proof read or tested, I think there is another error here on the decrease.
Here is the picture (i also went back and reread the pattern and you are right that it reads as working band of 5 then dec with k3tog) but look closely at the decrease for the V
It looks very much like 5 rib band sts, then a purl ditch, then a decrease which removes a purl and a knit, keeping the first stitch upper most to create a nice look, the following purl and knit are decreased behind.
The k3tog given in the pattern won’t produce the look but the slip k2tog passover will. However I really think you need to P1 then work the dec. The result will be the correct order of sts to continue the pattern of fishermans rib as set.
This is a guess as the designer has not written this in the pattern but it very much looks this way to me.
