(K1, inc. in next st) to end

I have 32 sts and am supposed to end up with 48 sts following these directions:

(K1, inc. in next st) to end

How does that work? It’s from Hello Kitty again.

knit 1, increase in next stitch, knit 1, increase in next stitch, etc. You’ll be increasing in every other stitch–half of the 32, so you’ll have 16 increases.

Okay, so how do you increase into the next stitch?

Okay, I’m thinking Knit into the front and then the back of the same stitch. To the knitting needles again!!!

Don’t you just love it when you answer your own question?

When they don’t specify what kind of inc to do, it’s your choice. I think kfb would be good for this one.

That’s what I did!!
