K to ds, ds as k

Hii! Im working on a sweater that is using German Short Rows to do the shoulders

.

My pattern says ‘k to ds, ds as k’ and i really dont know how to continue!! Please send help🥲

It means to knit till you come to ds (double stitch) and double stitch knit as one stitch. In pattern usually it mentions does ds will be knit or purl.
Im not best at explaining but I hope you will understand. Good luck on your project and come back if you need anything else.

Hmm, but it is the first row of doing ds, where do i ds to then…

What is the name of your pattern and the designer? Or a link to the pattern. As I read it you will work to the last stitch before the ds from previous row and in that stitch before it make a ds. If you worked, say, 9 stitches and did your ds in the 10th stitch, on the next row your ds would be worked in the 9th stitch.

Every time the pattern says to Turn, make a double stitch. Way up at the top right in the photo is a RSR (call it row 1)with the first turn that I can see. Make a double stitch there. On the next WSR (call it row 2), make a double stitch at the turn.
On the following RSR (row 3), knit to the ds, knit the ds from the earlier row and then knit 5 more stitches before turning to the WS. On WSR (row 4), purl to the ds, purl the ds and then knit 5 more stitches before turning to the RS.

Thank you!! I will try this out. Been trying to figure it out all day…

Sometimes it helps to see this for yourself on the needles. You can try a small swatch or put in a lifeline now on the project itself. If it becomes confused, you can rip back to the lifeline.
