Since joing KH, I’ve read lots and lots about how fantastic Malabrigo is. I’ve never seen this wool in Australia, so I’ve just ordered 2 skeins of Malabrigo Merino Chunky in Pink Frost:cheering:
So now the big question is what to make with it:shrug:
I will have approx 210yards. I’m currently knitting my first garment - a coat, but I don’t know how much I would wear a jumper (plus I don’t think there would be enough wool anyway).
So maybe a scarf or something? I’ve just finished the branching leaf pattern from knitty and am currently doing the knitty hearts scarf. Maybe I will give this one to my mum and use the Malabrigo to do another heart scarf?
Suggested gauge/needles for the Chunky is: Gauge: 3-3.5 sts/in on US size 10-11/6-8 mm needles
I’ve book marked a few scarf patterns from KPC, but mostly lace type ones so any suggestions or links would be great
You might be able to get a scarf out of that. I bought 2 hanks of the chunky Mmmmmalabrigo & made a couple of adult hats (nothin’ fancy, just a roll-brim) and a headband.
well now i am wondering which one is the shorter yardage…lol. I think malabrigo looks GREAT in the irish hiking scarf. I did a feather n fan in one skein of the worsted which is 215 yards. It was shorter than I like but it worked. Of course cables take more yardage so yeah definitely going to need more skeins for that scarf. should be gorgeous though!
