Oh yeah! We used to have this little turtle potty the girls used on long trips where there was no facilities. When they got big enough that the no longer needed the indoor potty chair or that one and it was time to give them away they were very upset. Finally we had to tell them we’d take the potties to the woods so the bears would have something to use. :roflhard: :roflhard:
And I HAVE peed in the woods… NOT fun! That reminds me…anyone watch Gray’s Anatomy? Did you see the one where Dr. Addison Shepard peed in the woods? She ended up with poison ivy in some very sensitive places!!! :shock:

Heh, that’s why I never pee in the woods. I’m highly allergic to poison ivy and a few years ago I sat in a great big patch of it by accident. :shock:
Ohh I remember getting it on my face too.

When I was in 4th grade my friend and I figured out a great way to get out of school…we were on a field trip and found a huge patch of poison oak and decided to go rub it all over ourselves. Brilliant, just brilliant. :rollseyes: I got out of school alright, but I wasn’t enjoying myself. :roflhard:

Re peeing in the woods: not fun. Even as an adult I have a difficult time not peeing on my feet…Apparently women can stand up to pee. I have never tried it, but I hear it can be done. :shock:
Re men’s dangly bits: a friend of mine in HS explained “tucking” to me once. How horrible to have to position that thing for comfort! And I thought adjusting boobs in a bra was bad…

I guess I’m not a good blogger… I often keep my thoughts and doings to myself which I suppose is not a good thing. Saves everyone else from my woes though. LOL I’m an easy going person and generally happy so it works for me…
Well here’s some news… My LFT’s (liver function tests) have been abnormal for awhile. There were up back in '96 and '98, then went down again to normal for several years. Now they are back up. Apparently doctors don’t just ignore them anymore. I have to have an ultrasound on Friday. It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. If it’s negative then he recommends I get a liver biopsy. If the US shows something wrong, well that speaks for itself so it’s not good either way. :rollseyes: He says he suspects it something called NASH syndrome which is untreatable. They like to diagnose it so that if something becomes available I’ll be “ready.”
Not much I can do about it so whatever will be will be. Moving on… have a haircut appt today… I sure need it I feel like a shaggy dog. My stupid hair is so fine and straight it just lays there unless it’s short enough to have some bounce. I tend to put it off though because it’s about $50…but I like my hairdresser so I deal with it.

Well, Jan, that just stinks. Is this something they’re certain about? I read a tiny little bit about this, and it sounds like it’s reversible if caught early. Are you in that category?

No, nothing is certain yet. The doctor (gastoenterologist) said that based on the elevated readings that is the usual cause. I go for the US tomorrow. If it’s negative I’ll probably have to get the biopsy. If it’s postive I imagine it depends on what it shows whether I’ll still need a biopsy or whatever. As to whether it’s early… I really don’t know what they consider early. I had the same problem back in 96 and 98 so who knows. Just a wait and see game.
In more interesting news… got my haircut. :shock: It’s always a shock when you go so far between haircuts. :roflhard: Only takes a few days to get used to it though. Just curious…does anyone else LIKE the way the hairdresser does your hair after a cut? I hate it! I always come home and redo it. :rollseyes:
Getting ready for DH’s 60th birthday this weekend! He doesn’t want a big thing so we are having a barbecue and family over. Should be fun, but I hate having to get ready…all that housework. Ugh. :doh:
I usually HATE the way my hairdresser does my hair after it’s cut!! The one I try to go to regularly has gotten a bit better, but I can’t help but think that she doesn’t even look at me when I come in. I just want a trim! Why do I look like another person when I leave? This last time a new girl did it, it took twice as long, and I refused to even stop for milk on the way home.

I still have my fingers crossed for your tests–makes it hard to knit, but I want you well! 
Crossables crossed here too, Jan, re the tests! I had elevated liver proteins for awhile (3 consecutive tests), but they went back to normal on my last test. Apparently taking something as innocuous as ibuprofen the day before or of a test can make the numbers off! My doc asked if that’s what I’d done–I had no clue. I mean who keeps a diary of that stuff? :rollseyes:
Hairdressers always want to use lots of “product” on my hair, I guess since, like yours, it’s straight and fine. They want VOLUME! Well, I for one don’t want loud hair, so yeah, I come home and turn it down a bit. Wash it if I have to.
My hair wont behave for anyone but me. I talk nice to it.

And, my hairdresser – whom I’ve been with since before DD was born – now styles my hair, stands back and says, “OK … go ahead and fix it.” :lol: She knows me too well.
Jan I hope things go well at the doctors office - we are all obviously hoping for the best.
My hair dresser is getting bored with my hair. I only go in once every three months and only get a trim…no style. I’m working on growing it out so I can donate it to Locks of Love. Everytime she cuts my hair she asks “so what fun are we going to have when I get to cut 12” off?" :shock: Scary!!

Ultrasound is done and nothing was found except a ton of gallstones. No surprise there as I’ve had them a long time with no symptoms. So know I just have to wait till the doctor gets the reports and see where we go next. Thanks for all your good thoughts!
