James C Brett JB266

Hi I am new to this forum (and a returning knitter after many years). I am knitting the above pattern but I am unsure as to what I am doing with the back.

The pattern reads:

Change to 6 mm needles and work in st-st (throughout) cont until Back measures 33cm, ending with a ws row
Shape armholes.
Cast off 6 sts at beg of next row
Next row K2, s1 K1 psso, knit to last 4 sts, K2tog, K2.
The pattern then starts decreasing 1 stitch at each end of the row, then alternate rows.

My question is, why am I decreasing 6 stiches at one end of the row, but not the other. Surely the back should be symmetrical?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Yes, it looks like it should have been “Cast off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows”.
I couldn’t find an errata page but you might contact Brett to check on the pattern to be sure. It certainly seems like it should be symmetrical armholes.

Thank you
