italian cast-on followed by k2p2 rib

I am knitting Petite Knit’s Caramel Sweater. The instructions say to cast-on an even number of stitches with the italian cast-on technique and then join in the round for 2x2 ribbing. However, the italian cast-on instruction video on her website shows it for 1x1 rib.

Do I need to do anything differently for knitting 2x2 ribbing? I found [this technique](https://www youtube.com/watch?v=vXKXPbM3BSE) which seems to swap the knit and purl stitch so there’s two knits next to each other. I was wondering if there’s any other techniques as I worry I could easily mess up swapping stitches constantly.

Does this help?

I like this method better than swapping sts. It still gives that lovely wrap-around edge.
