ISO...Small Christmas stocking pattern

This is my youngest child’s last year going to daycare…she will be starting big school next school year…:woohoo:

I would like to make all the kids at daycare a little stocking, I’m thinking small enough to be a Christmas ornament on their tree at home, but big enough to hold a few goodies if the daycare wanted to stick something in them.

I have found some cute ones online that look like Christmas stockings but don’t know how to adjust the pattern to get the size I need. I guess my skill level is an advanced beginner because cables scare me to death!

I have 100 of these to make before Christmas break so any and all help is appreciated.

You can make them plain if you like, but this page should give you what you want.

100?!

This is my free pattern and if you like it you’re welcome to use it. It’s already small, but it should be easy to adjust to size.

I made about 30 of them one year for charity.

Thanks!

I tried looking on Ralvery but I don’t remember running across those.

I will be using worsted weight yarn so will those patterns still work?

I mostly use Red Heart so I am not familiar with all the different kinds and brands out there.

Since I’d already downloaded Jan’s pattern I took a quick look and see no reason RH yarn wouldn’t work just fine. In fact, I think I have some RH or similar yarn that I’ll use and make some for myself. They look to be really quick to knit and as you want to make them for all the kids, simple and quick is good.

GG is correct. For my pattern any yarn will work fine really. If you use finer yarn it would be smaller, heavier will be bigger. Just choose the appropriate needle size. Here’s a link to my page where you can see the various ones I made.

I’m not sure about the other pattern.

Great!! Thanks!!

Jan, those are just too too cute! :inlove: Thank you for the pattern!
