Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any advice!
I’m knitting the step by step jumper by Florence miller. I am using Leo concept wool and couldn’t quite get the the gauge so I went with 5.5mm needles and sized up on jumper. I am still knitting the body after putting the sleeves on hold. When I try it on, the armpits are fine but a little on the snug side, is there a way to increase this when I put the stitches back on to the needles to make them a little bigger? I probably only need to increase by 4-6 stitches ish.

You might try blocking the armholes according to the instructions on the ballband to see if you can stretch them a bit. Wetting the body then pinning out should work but check the ballband. Let us know how this goes please.
The size of the armholes is partly determined by the body. Adding to the sleeve underarm without adding to the body as well isn’t going to help.
Hopefully the suggestion to block the armholes will work. Otherwise, you’ll have to back up to where you joined for the body and add your 4-6 stitches there. If you don’t want the body to be that much larger, you can do some decreases as you go, 1 decrease every 4 rows, maybe. This will create a sort of underarm gusset, which will help with fit and movement.
