I have a quick question about stranding. I am using mohair on a cone. It is 90% mohair and is very hard to use by itself for the sweater I’m knitting. The sweater calls for a worsted weight yarn and the mohair is a worsted weight. However I want to strand it with another fiber to make it stronger and easier to work with. Is there a particular fiber that would be better so I can stay on gauge with a worsted weight? Any thoughts?
I’ve done the opposite, stranded a very fine, cobweb mohair with a heavier yarn with very little effect on gauge. I’m not sure you can find a light enough cotton or wool but there are some coned yarns that might work. Try a search at your favorite online store and see if they have something you like.

Would this be lace weight yarn? Maybe a fine crochet thread would work? I’m just thinking about things I might try as I’ve never done this.
