iPad > iPad mini pattern...help needed

Hello!

I’ve seen this pattern http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/knitting/other/corylus/53928

for an iPad case, which I love. As does my sister whom I want to knit it for, for Christmas… however, she has an iPad mini which is obviously smaller than the case in the pattern.

I’m just wondering if there is some amazing knitting wizard out there who could help me convert this pattern to fit an iPad mini??

The iPad mini dimensions are:
Height: 200 mm (7.87 inches)
Width: 134.7 mm (5.3 inches)
Depth: 7.2 mm (0.28 inches)
Weight: 312 g (0.69 pounds)

Many thanks in advance!

The pattern makes something that is 7.25" X 9.5".
You want something that is 5.3x7.87". This is roughly 1/3 smaller.

The pattern uses bulky yarn and US 9 needles.
Why don’t you try making the pattern with DK yarn and US 6/7 needles and see what size you get?

Yes, knitting the entire pattern at a smaller gauge will work. You’ll have to try it yourself to see the size you get with your yarn and needles. You could also use the yarn weight called for, cast on fewer sts and use only a single panel of the pattern with increased areas of seed stitch on either side.

Thanks guys, I’ll see what I can do.

Anyone have any other suggestions while we’re here?
