I am knitting a SCARF with the colours white, purple and black. I have started a few rows with white. Then I want to do the same number of rows with white and purple - one loop white and one loop purple. After that I want to do the same number of rows in purple only and then the big middle part of the scarf in purple and black. The other end of the scarf I want to do the same as the start.
Questions:
Is this too adventurous for a beginner? I soooooooo want to do this right.
When I introduce a new colour at the beginning of a row do I have to have a little bit of the new colour yarn dangling from the starting point?
I don’t think that it’s too adventurous for a beginner at all. Not only will it give you experience with your stitching, it will also give you experience with your weaving as well. When you add new colors, you want to leave a tail of the new color… maybe about 6" or so. You also want to make sure the you leave a tail of the old color too. You’ll weave the tails in when that scarf is finished.
