I wanted to do a k1, p1 rib, but somehow I always end up doing it wrong and it turns into a seed stitch. So do I start the row with the same stitch as the previous stitch or a different stitch? I tried both and it looks funny. Did I turn the work over the wrong way?
If you have an even number of stitches you will start each row with same stitch. i.e. K
If you have odd number of stitches you start each row with the different stitch. i.e. start knit st one row, start purl st next row etc.
The reverse of a knit st is purl, and reverse of purl is knit. For k1p1 rib, You need to knit the knit stitches and purl the p sts as they appear facing you.
So a stitch that was knit on front side, you purl on the back next.side. and a st purl on front side, is knit on reverse side.
