Intarsia sweater

Hi!

I’m new to this forum and I really hope I can get some help with my problem

I’m a nw knitter and I’m just sturting up with my first sweater.
Sweater would be gray with big giraffe print on the front.
I decided to do intarsia for the giraffe and fair isle for spots on the giraffe (there would not be that many of them). I have tried fair isle before but never tried intarsiA.
This is the pattern but I don’t know if I can do intarsia and fair isle with this pattern. Can someone please help me?

1st row: (WS). K2. *P1. K1. Rep from * to last st. K1.
2nd row: K1. *K1below. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
3rd row: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
4th row: K2. *K1below. K1. Rep from * to last st. K1.

If this patter is not possible, is there any pattern that is not stockinette stitch and I can still do intarsia and fair isle?

Welcome to Knitting Help!
It’s an interesting idea to knit this stitch patttern in combination with an intarsia design. It can be done but the problem may be that the graphic design will not be very crisp because of the K1below pattern. You could test it out on a swatch to see if you like the result. The same holds true for the fair isle part of the design.
I think that that’s the reason so many patterns use stockinette for intarsiaand fair isle.
