Ingrid has come in out of the yard

Wow, I had to go searching for this thing! I’m actually at the divide for the v-neck of the sweater for my daughter. I have been working at this non-stop. The yarn is splitty and not stretchy, so my fingers are tired. The back is complete, the sleeves will need some repair on the top–too long from armhole to shoulder, but the front is being decreased at this point. I may actually get this baby done.

Then all knitting is what I want, when I want, with the yarn I want!

I got the third skein of the luscious hand painted alpaca yesterday. :inlove: I almost hesitate to knit with it because then I won’t have it anymore. I’ll have to play with it to see what I want to make. Definitely a sweater, maybe just a simple top down raglan so the yarn can do the talking.

I didn’t even get dressed today. I did have the washer and dryer going all day, though, so I wasn’t totally lazy. I was just too comfy to change, and since the last time I did this was when I had the flu a few years ago, I figured I was entitled. So there.

Five day work week coming up. I don’t know if I can make it after all the vacation and snow days. Spoiled rotten for sure!!

Awwww poor Ingy… Well I suppose you have to go back to real world sometime.

Wow - you stayed in pajamas AND did laundry?? Ambition knows no bounds… Feel good. That’s more than I manage in a week, sometimes. :stuck_out_tongue:

:waving:

 hand-dyed alpaca
I’m sooo envious…

I think you’re right (of course you’re right  ) a simple sweater would be best for your yummy yarn… something loungy and casual for days off when you don’t want to stay in your jammies!!

if I had my way, I’d be in my pjs all day everyday. my entire closet would be filled with pjs. pjs. I had a short week last week too, so now I’m back at work for good and I already need a nap! And it’s only noon!

I am SOOOOO there with ya!!

Let’s you and me open an LYS where we encourage the wearing of PJs and felted clogs at work!!! IM BRILLIANT!!!

I love wearing scrubs to work - it’s totally like pjs! …only with shoes. I’m not such a fan of wearing shoes! :roflhard:

Being a kid, I find that alarming. “Hey, it was okay for ME to do it, but if YOU do it, you’re dead.”
lol, then MY kids will have no excuse and no fingers to point! haha. I’ve never done any of that stuff, and sometimes it worries me if I do have kids, I wont have any experiences to relate if they do start doing that stuff (havent had kids yet, so we’ll see) All that I’ll have to say is “I never felt the need to do that.”

My Google ads are for pajamas! Better that than drugs, I suppose! :rofling:

Cate–you’ll have to knit yourself some white clogs so you can wear them to work!

I had to frog a bunch of my daughters sweater. I divided for the neck, and the directions said dec at neck edge every 4th right side row. I read that to mean every 8th row. Unfortunately, I realized that if I continued that way, I’d end up with double the length that I needed. I WILL get this thing done!!!

You can do it, Ingy! I know that hand-dyed loveliness will keep you motivated!

Re pajamas: I have lots of pairs of what I call “happy pants”–flannel and knit. I suppose technically they are pajama bottoms, but I refuse to call them that. Thus I can wear them all the time when I’m home and not feel guilty. I change into them immediately when I get home, so of course I’m wearing some now! They have snowmen, skiing polar bears, and igloos on them.

Yay happypants! :sunglasses:

Sometimes the girls in school come in wearing their pajama pants. To be honest, I’d rather see that than some of the low-slung tight jeans! The school nurse used to be outraged and make them change–even calling a parent to bring in clothing, but finally the principal told her to cool it. It wasn’t a battle worth fighting because the girls would argue endlessly. I say if they want to walk around in comfy, baggy pants with Spongebob on them–go for it. The boys can concentrate much better on their work that way!

Now if the boys would wear their pants a little tighter, we’d be in good shape. I wish I could take video and show them that they look like penguins waddling down the hallway in their baggy pants that are belted under their butts. They have to walk funny just to keep them up. I tell them that their pants were a wise investment since they’ll be able to wear them no matter how much weight they gain as they get older. :rofling: Some get the sarcasm.

Yeah, what is with the impulse to show one’s underwear? Girls wear the super-low-rise jeans and show their thongs, and the guys wear the big baggy pants, belted, as you know, below their butts, and show their boxers. I don’t want to see these things! I keep thinking these fads will finally go away, but it’s just not happening…

I go to work in my PJs. But then, my office is here at home, so…

I believe in the “Linda Ellerbee” school of meeting taking. Nice turtleneck, blazer, and plaid pajama bottoms with bumblebees on them (matching the turtleneck, of course). No one sees you from the waist down at yer desk on a webcam!

That is an EXCELLENT philosophy, Wyn!! :rofling:

That’s perfect!

I wish I could wear my happypants to work. I’d be so cozy and much more relaxed than I am in my usual suit-y sorts of things…sigh

… …

uh, happypants?

That sounds like something naughty belonging in Hildie’s blog. :roflhard:
For some reason I keep thinking about Trucker and the discussion of angora boxer shorts! (Which I may have to make for my DH, I think. Woo. )

:roflhard: :roflhard:

DH has a pair of these w/ bandana-wearing smiley faces. We call those his Happy Pants. And, of course, there’s lots of other jokes that go along with 'em. :shifty:

Im there with ya, knitstah!
I suppose you haven’t seen pictures of Ingie’s attic then, have you???

:roflhard: :roflhard:
DH bought me a PJ set w/a Pink Floyd logo on the shirt, and alll over the pants, and BIL bought me purple leopard print flamnnel PJ set… throw in my ultra comfy men’s cotton jammies and my superlong satin nightshirt, and the whole week after Christmas I stayed in my PJ’s until we had to get dressed to go somewhere   There are deinite perks to being a SAHM, sometimes!!!

 I want to!! :drooling:

They’re here somewhere on the forum…I think in one of the stash threads!
