I’ve knitted 8" of the Back piece, and now the instructions say: “Purl, increasing (2, 0, 2) sts evenly spaced.”
I’ve never increased stitches during knitting (scarf girl!), but I can probably figure out how to do it from youtube. I just don’t understand what I’m supposed to do. What does the (2, 0, 2) mean?
The (2,0,2) is for the different sizes you can cast on. The numbers themselves tell you how many to increase. For the largest and smallest you increase 2, for the medium you don’t increase at all.
There are increase videos here in KH. At the top of the page click videos, increases. For a dog sweater you could probably just do backward loop or KFB and be fine. Up to you though.
What Jan said. And in addition ‘evenly spaced’ means space them apart, so if you’re to inc 2 sts, knit about 1/4 the sts, inc, then knit to 1/4 from the end of the round/row and inc again.
Oh okay, thanks Jan! I really do appreciated the quick response. I guess it threw me off because the rest of the pattern has the “small instuctions” outside the parenthesis with the med. and large instructions inside.
So if I am to increase 2 sts, do I just add one at the beginning and one at the end?
I’m going to go check out the videos, thanks for the tip. I haven’t explored the site yet!
